Bhubaneswar, May 18 (Local Wire): The Indian Meteorological Department in their latest bulletin said that the cyclone Amphan is likely to intensify into a Super Cyclonic Storm in the next 12 hours and likely to move northeast wards after that.
The department said that the cyclonic storm moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 13 kmph during past 06 hours and intensified into an Extremely Severe cyclonic storm.
It now positioned around 790 kms away from Paradip (Odisha).
“It is very likely to intensify into a Super Cylonic Storm further during next 12 hours.
It is very likely to move north-northeastwards and move fast across northwest Bay of Bengal and cross West Bengal – Bangladesh coasts between Digha (West Bengal) and Hatiya Islands (Bangladesh) during the Afternoon / Evening of 20th May 2020 as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm,” the Met department said.
