Bhubaneswar, April 26 (LocalWire): There might be relief in the coming days as the Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted possibility of rain and thunderstorm at isolated placesin the state due to the cyclonic circulation.
Rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam districts of Odisha, said the Meteorological Centre duty officer, Gauranga Charan Behera.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind is also likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore districts, he added.
The formation of the well-marked low pressure depression is likely to intensify further in the next 24 hours and move towards Tamil Nadu.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea and distance cautionary Signal-1 has been hoisted at all ports in the state, said Behera.
However, heatwave condition is likely to prevail in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Boudh, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur for the next three days.
Temperature above 40 degree Celsius has been reported from 11 places in Odisha, he added.
