Bhubaneswar, May 13 (LocalWire): The Indian Meteorological Department on Wednesday informed in its weather bulletin that a low-pressure area may intensify into a cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal by 16th May.
The low-pressure area has developed over south-east Bay of Bengal adjoining the south Andaman Sea on the morning of 13th May and is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm over the south-west and west Bay of Bengal by 16th May.
As such, there is no weather warning for Odisha state for the next 5 days in association with the low-pressure system, said the bulletin.
There is no warning for the Odisha coast area for the next 5 days, but a warning for fishermen at the deep-sea area has been issued.
Wind speed of 45-55 kmph, gusting up to 65 kmph, is expected over the south and adjoining the central Bay of Bengal on 15th May, while wind speeds of 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph are expected on 16th May.
Citing rough sea conditions, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea and those who are at sea have been advised to return.
The system is under surveillance and the next bulletin would be issued on 14th May.
