Jagatsinghpur, May 23 (LocalWire): BJP leader Damodar Rout who contested the Balikuda Erasama seat is trailing in third position after Congress.
BJD MLA candidate Raghunandan Das is ahead from both his competitors in the fag end of the counting of votes.
Although Rout suffered a setback, his son Sambit Routray contesting with a BJD ticket from Paradip is leading with huge votes.
After the 21st round of counting of votes, BJD MLA candidate of Balikuda Erasama seat Das has received 33944 votes while Congress candidate Lalatendu Mohapatra has received only 14827 and BJP candidate Rout received only 14543votes.
Congress stalwart and sitting MLA Chiranjib Biswal contesting from Jagatsinghpur Assembly is expected to win this seat for his clean image but he is trailing behind BJD candidate Muduli.
By the 21st round of counting, Muduli has received 64782 votes while Biswal has received only 56213 votes.
BJP candidate Satyabrat Mohapatra has received only 26989 votes.
In Paradip, BJD MLA candidate Sambit Routray is leading by a huge margin of 54078 votes against Congress candidate Arindam Sarkhel who has received 45116 votes while BJP candidate Sampad Swain has received only 32300 votes so far.
In Tirtol Assembly seat, BJD candidate Bishnu Das is leading against BJP candidate Ramakant Bhoi .
Das has received 46030 votes while Bhoi received 27303 and Congress candidate Debi Prasad Mallick received 10890 votes so far.
BJD is expected to sweep both the Assembly and Parliamentary election and Raghunadan Das asserted that CM’s clean image and popularity was the main reason for winning by a huge margin.
