Kendrapara, Jan 30 (LocalWire):The digitalization of entry tickets at historic sites at places such as Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri, Konark, Rajarani, Khandagiri, etc in Odisha is about to suffer as the Archaeological Survey Of India (ASI) has recently decided to retrench all the 36 Data-Entry- Operators(DEOs) in the state from 1st February 2020.
On Thursday, all the data-entry operators of the state threatened the government to sit on an indefinite hunger strike in front of the ASI office in Bhubaneswar from Monday to protest against the decision of the government not to renew their jobs as Pratha Sarathi Nayak, the President of All Odisha Data Entry Operators Association (AODEOA) of ASI informed LocalWire.
Gupteswar Pinakipani Raj, the Vice-President of (AODEOA) of ASI told LocalWire that the ASI appointed 36 officers as the Data Entry Operators in 2017 to computerize all the records including the entry tickets.
But, recently, the ASI decided to terminate the jobs of all the Data Entry Operators and not to renew them.
“We urged many times in front of the ASI officials to renew our jobs. But the ASI is yet to listen to our demands,” informed Raj.
