Jagatsinghpur, Sept 17 (LocalWire): The body of a young girl, working as nurse in a nursing home in Cuttack was retrieved from a jute bag from the banks of the Biluakhai river under Biridi police limits today.
The decomposed body was found by locals of Nuapari village, who informed the police.
Police rushed to the spot and police been sent the body to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, for autopsy.
A forensic team will examine the dead body to ascertain the cause of death.
The hands of the victim were tied behind the back but since the body had decomposed no physical injury could be established, the SDPO, Prakash Chandra Pal, said.
After news of the body being found spread, it was found that there was a missing diary filed on 8 September by the owner of MM Nursing Home at Madhupatana police station, Cuttack, about a nurse who had gone missing since that afternoon.
Family members, including the mother, brother and sister of the missing nurse rushed to Biridi to identify the body and recognized it as Niharika Patra’s.
The nurse’s mother Pratima Patra lodged an FIR in Biridi police station against Kishore Ojha alias Raja since the victim had left the nursing home with him on 8 September.
