Bhubaneswar, April 22 (LocalWire): Odisha Design Council and IDC School of design (IIT Bombay) are bringing to the capital the popular Demystifying Design workshop on Saturday 11 May in a first of its kind interactive day-long session.
The session aims to foster understanding of ‘design’ by employing a unique approach to learning design through everyday observations, discussions and debates in the applied context and is, therefore, open to all.
The interactive session will be conducted by Prof. Mandar Rane (Faculty – Communication Design) and Prof. Purba Joshi (Faculty – Industrial Design) from the IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay.
The session aims to understand designing by an exposure to ‘Design around you’ through observations, introducing the ‘Design Triad Framework’, help analyse a design task using the framework and will be an opportunity to experience the act of design and apply design thinking.
The founder of ODC, Prof. Paresh Choudhury said, ‘Due to the multi-disciplinary nature of designing, finding a common ground to define design has always been a challenge.
The workshop aims to demystify the definition of design for those who plan to venture into designing or are in various professions of design but still find it difficult to articulate the term.’
Every participant will be awarded a certificate from Continuing Education Program office of IIT Bombay on completion of the workshop.
