Bhubaneswar, April 12 (LocalWire): DGP BK Sharma today reviewed the poll preparedness with Range IG, DIG and SSP of eleven districts at the state police headquarters, Cuttack, through video conferencing.
Sharma interacted with the SPs of Nayagarh, Rourkela, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Berhampur, Boudh, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts that will vote in the second phase of elections on 18 April.
The DGP emphasised on free, fair, transparent, impartial and incident free elections in the districts, enforcement of model code of conduct, strict adherence to the guidelines for police and security arrangements including visit of VIPs and VVIPs.
He also reviewed the result of the enforcement drive taken up by different districts.
In the meeting Sharma asked the SPs to use the Central Armed Police Force in a proper manner and prepare a complete security plan. CAPFs need to be used in the area domination work, mobile patrolling and static deployment in the sensitive booths.
The SPs were told to submit their additional requirement of man power for Anti-Naxal operations to ADGP (L&O) and ADGP (operation).
Sharma further told the SPs to operate integrated control rooms in the respective district Headquarters involving officers of CAPF, revenue administration and district police. They have also been instructed to remain in the control room during polling.
