Odisha police will continue to maintain zero-tolerance towards cases of rape and molestation, said Director General of Police, Abhay, who took over as State’s police chief on Monday.
The safety of people in general and women and minor girls in particular stays in the list of priorities of Odisha police.
There is no reason for women to feel insecure, police will try its level best to curb these crimes, he said.
The lawlessness by gangsters and crime syndicates will be sternly dealt with.
Commenting on the Naxal situation, he said the left wing extremism has been greatly controlled in the State over the years.
Still joint teams of police and security forces will be on job with renewed vigour to control the activities of red rebels.
Ongoing measures to bring the Maoists through social security rehabilitation measures will continue, he added.
