Bhubaneswar, May 13 (LocalWire): Daily passengers who avail the MO bus to commute between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are harried due to the unavailability of buses.
The bus service, managed by the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) was inaugurated by Naveen Patnaik in November 2018.
The buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, closed-circuit television cameras, online ticketing systems, and a smartphone application. The automated fare collection system is also there for commuters in the form of the Odyssey City Card.
‘We are unable to provide buses as maximum passengers are from Puri, Khurda and Bhubaneswar and are on holiday due to Fani,’ an MO official said. ‘However, we hope to restore the bus service phase wise in a couple of days. We have started the AC bus service from Friday,’ he added.
‘We are facing a lot of hardship because the bus is not coming on time as is scheduled in the MO bus app and auto rickshaw drivers are fleecing passengers in the absence of adequate buses,’ said a daily passenger.
One of the locals said, ‘we are facing such a problem after 1999 and are feeling helpless.’
