Malkangiri, Jan 21 (LocalWire) A doctor and his team in Malkangiri district received wide appreciations for saving the life of a pregnant woman by bringing her to hospital in a cot trekking about 18 miles on a narrow and slippery forest road on Monday.
Dr Radheshyam Jena and his colleagues were holding a health camp in a nearby area when they came to know about the suffering of the woman at Kodidulagundi village.
They rushed to the site.
While the woman delivered a baby boy, the other baby remained in the uterus and he could not help further, the New Indian Express newspaper reported.
Jena and team carried the woman in a cot and trekked in hilly terrain to admit her in the government hospital. The second baby had died, the mother and another newborn are stable, the papers said citing the doctors.
