Bhubaneswar,December 6 (LocalWire):East Coast Railway has introduced special train services towards different destinations in view of winter season rush and consequent increase of passengers’ footfall.
As passengers are unable to schedule their winter holiday plan with their tickets waiting list for confirmed reservation in the regular trains, the ECoR is introducing the special trains for passengers’ convenience and hassle-free journey, said ECoR officials.
08429 Puri-Sai Nagar Shirdi Special train will leave Puri at 1200 hrs on every Wednesday from December 4 to 25 and will arrive at Sai Nagar Shirdi at 2000 hrs on Thursdays.
In the return direction 08430 Sai Nagar Shirdi – Puri Special train will leave Sai Nagar Shirdi at 0045 hrs (mid-night of Thursday-Friday) on every Friday from December 5 to 27 and will arrive at Puri at 1100 hrs on Saturdays.
Similarly 82851/82852 Visakhapatnam- Subedarganj(Allahabad) -Visakhapatnam Suvidha Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 2350 hrs on every Tuesday between November 26 to December 10 and from Subedarganj(Allahabad) at 1530hrs on every Thursday between November 28 to December 12.
Passengers who are planning to travel during this peak season can avail facility of Special trains to make their journey comfortable by getting confirmed berths.
A special weekly express train is also running between Puri and Howrah (Santragachi). Another Weekly Special Express train is running between Shalimar-Puri-Santragachi. Both the special train services will continue till December 28.
For South India bound passengers, one Weekly AC Special Express and one Bi-weekly Special Express trains are being run on Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad route.
Similarly a special train is running between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad for the benefit of the waitlisted passengers.
For the Western Odisha bound passengers, one Weekly Special Express train is running between Sambalpur and Bangalore (Banaswadi).
Keeping in view the demand between Visakhapatnam and Tirupaty, one weekly special train is serving the passengers.
One special train is also running between Srikakulam Road-Kacheguda-Tirupati.
East Coast Railway is also running a Daily special train between Visakhapatnam and Araku for the nature loving tourists. Services of the above trains will be available till December 31.
In addition to the above, waitlisted passengers over ECoR’s jurisdiction can avail the facility of Special trains being run between Santragachi and Coimbatore, Hatia and Bangalore Cantonment to make their journey comfortable.
If, passengers are getting wait list status in regular trains during this season, they may book Train tickets in Special trains running from and through East Coast Railway jurisdiction.
The Special Train Number starts with “0” (zero) or with “8” and passengers can easily find it from National Train Enquiry System (NTES) for online Ticket or may ask at the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) inquiry Counter for Counter Tickets.
Passengers may book their tickets online by following IRCTC website or book ticket through Mobile App or may book tickets from PRS Counters.
ECoR is also notifying about the running of Special Trains on regular basis via different media.
