Kendrapara, July 19 (LocalWire): The Election Commission has decided to conduct live monitoring in 31 out of 309 polling booths during the Patkura by-poll on 20 July.
“The live video from 31 polling booths will be directly monitored by the Election Commission through webcasting,” Kendrapara district collector S Verma said.
The webcasting will be closely monitored at the district control room and at the control rooms of the CEO’s office in Bhubaneswar, the collector informed.
“We have installed CCTV cameras in 40 polling booths and elaborate arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of the election in the district,” he said.
“Five magistrates, four companies of CRPF and policemen have been deployed in Patkura for the by-poll and over 138 booths have been declared as critical,” the officer added.
Overall 10 candidates are in the fray in the by-poll, including the BJP candidate and former minister Bijay Mohapatra, senior Congress leader Jayant Mohanty and Sabitri Agrawalla, widow of senior BJD leader and former minister Bedaprakash Agrawalla.
