Bhubaneswar, April 16 (LocalWire): To clear the additional rush of passengers during summer, the ministry of Railways is running special trains for different destinations from and through East Coast Railway jurisdiction.
Apart from the earlier notified 15 pairs of special trains, it has also planned to run one more pair of summer special train between Santragachhi and Chennai.
Santragachhi-Chennai Central-Santragachhi summer special will leave at 12.40 pm every Friday from Santragachhi from 12 April to 28 June and will leave from Chennai Central at 18.20 pm every Saturday from 13 April to 29 June.
This summer special train has four AC 2 tier coaches, five AC 3 tier coaches, four sleeper class coaches and two guard-cum-luggage van and will stop at Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Vizianagaram, Duvvada, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Nellore and Gudur between Santragachhi and Chennai Central.
Apart from these a number of special trains have been planned between different destinations of the country through ECoR jurisdiction in the summer and will also create more berths from ECoR.
Regular trains will be augmented with additional coaches during the period by creating additional berths.
