Bhubaneswar, May 5 (LocalWire): To put life back on track in cyclone affected Odisha, the centre has extended all possible help to the coastal state that was battered by cyclonic storm Fani on Friday.
Cabinet Secretary P. K. Sinha directed Ministry of Power and Department of Telecommunications to immediately assist Odisha Government by providing electrical poles, gang workmen and Diesel Generator sets of varying capacities for quick restoration of power supply in the state, official sources said.
Department of Telecommunications has indicated that mobile services in the affected areas of the state would be restored partially today itself.
Extensive damage to telecommunication lines and power infrastructure was caused in Puri and many other areas.
Meanwhile, advanced precautionary measures taken by the state and the central governments had ensured minimal loss of life.
