Bhubaneswar, June 30 (LocalWire): The regional India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Odisha has issued a red warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfalls of more than 20 cm at one or two places in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sonepur, Angul, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh and Dhenkanal on Monday.
The IMD has also advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast and North Bay of Bengal from 30 June to 2 July 2019.
According to the IMD communiqué, low pressure over northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood may lead to squally weather and gusty wind of 40 to 50 km per hour over North Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood areas during the period.
The meteorological department has also issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Kendrapada, Cuttack and Mayurbhanj on Sunday.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj Boudh Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Nawarangpur during 24 hours from 8:30 am on 1 July.
