|Kendrapara, Dec 7 (LocalWire) A fake job racket has been busted in Kendrapara district on Friday and a racketeer was arrested, said police.|
“We have arrested the kingpin of the racket Malaya Kumar Bal of Jagannathpur village under Rajnagar police station on charges of deceiving many job seekers,” said Rajnagar police inspector-in-charge Sukant Kumar Patra.
“We have seized many fake appointed letters, seals, stamps and fake gate passes from him,” he said.
“The arrest was made on the basis of a series of complaints. The complainants had been deceived to the tune of Rs 25 lakh by the accused,” Patra added.
He further said the police got evidences that the arrested man cheated over a hundred of job seekers from various parts of the state to provide them jobs at the Dhamara port.
“Apart from the arrested person, there are more members who are assisting him in running the racket. The matter is being investigated. We are hopeful of arresting more persons connected with the racket,” he said.
He was was booked under sections 420, 468, 471, 341, 294, 323, 506 and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
On Friday, he was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) in Rajnagar.
The court rejected his bail petition and remanded him to judicial custody, he added.
In the recent past, police had also busted two similar rackets in which people were deceived on the pretext of giving them jobs in some companies in Paradip, Jajpur and Dhamara.ReplyReply allForward
