Jajpur, Dec 7 (LocalWire) A 48-year-old farmer was electrocuted when a high intensity wire fell on him at Tulati village under Korei police station of Jajpur district on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rabindra Kumar Mallick of Tulati village.
According to eye-witnesses, the incident occurred when an 11 KV overhead electricity line snapped and fell onto him while he was going to harvest paddy from his land.
” After hearing his cry, some people in the vicinity rushed to the spot but were unable to save him, as the line was live and he had come in contact with the power cables,” said villager Sankar Mallick.
“We have seized the body and sent it to the local government hospital for autopsy,” said Korei police inspector-in-charge Chinmayee Sahoo.
