Bhubaneswar, April 26 (LocalWire): Odisha Congress president Niranjan Patnaik and his son Navajyoti are the wealthiest politicians contesting the elections in the fourth phase, a report said.
Senior Patnaik is the wealthiest among candidates for the assembly with assets worth over Rs 60 crore, while Navajyoti is the richest among Lok Sabha candidates with over Rs 104 crore assets.
Other rich candidates contesting for the assembly include Congress’ Chiranjib Biswal and BJD’s Pranab Balabantantray, according to the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
Among the Lok Sabha candidates, BJD’s Rabindra Jena and BJP’s Baijayant Panda were placed second and third on the rich list with assets worth Rs 72 crore and Rs 57 crore respectively.
The state Congress chief is contesting the assembly polls from Ghasipura and Bhandaripokhari seats, while his son Navajyoti is contesting from Balasore Lok Sabha constituency.
