Bhubaneswar, July 7 (LocalWire): The State Finance Department today issued a notification asking all state government institutions to follow austere measures to reduce costs in the light of Coronavirus.
The department has now requested all government bodies to restrict the expenditure and reduce a number of activities to reduce the costs.
“…nation-wide lockdown/ shutdown has interrupted the economic activities which resulted in a shortfall in realization of resources. On the other hand COVID management would require higher expenditure.
There would also be higher spending needed for generating employment and livelihoods for the most affected sections of the society,” the notification said.
Following are the key instructions given by the department-
–Complete ban on purchase of new vehicles for next 2 years.
–Official tours by officials to be avoided.
–Complete ban on foreing travels and biz class travel by air.
–Complete ban on 1st AC travels in trains.
–No hotel reimbursement for stay in metro cities.
–No new purchase of equipment except for medical equipment.
–No new jobs to be filled, outsourcing to be reduced.
–Complete ban on meetings, seminars, workshops and hosting of Official lunch and dinner in hotels through Government funds.
— Complete ban on LTC for two years i.e. till 31st March, 2022.
