Bhubaneswar, June 6 (Local Wire): The first round of a 48-hour Saturday, Sunday curfew came into effect from today as the non-essential services were kept off road in several parts of the state.
11 notified districts including Khurda district since morning saw least vehicular movement on the roads due to the imposed curbs.
The National Highway was also deserted, keeping in view the permission to allow only a few categories of services.
Police force was deployed at several nooks and corners to streamline the curfew and screen the defaulters.
Several important points in these districts saw security personnel scrutinising the movement of vehciles and people.
As per the order of the government only emergency services like health care, essential government offices, media houses and people coming and returning from airports and railway stations and others are permitted to venture out during the curfew.
