The mishap took place when six members of Royal Dance Group of Kendrapada town were returning to home from Panikoili in a car after watching a jatra.
Earlier, on Sunday evening, they attended the annual function of Prince Dance Group at Kendrapara town.
“We suspect that the driver of the car dozed off at the wheel as a result of which the vehicle hit an unknown truck at around 1.30 am,” said Sahoo.
Police seized the mangled vehicle and sent all bodies to the district government hospital for autopsy.
