Balangir, Jan 19 (LocalWire) Members of cultural groups, organisers and residents marched together here to mark the five-day multi-lingual festival ‘Matkhai Mahotsav began on Sunday at Balangir.
The troupes members danced to the tunes of the music during the theatre march that went through the town.
Led by festival committee chairman and legislature Narasingha Mishra the members of the Ghumura ( Kalahandi) Parva (Padampur, Bargarh) Ghuduka, Dhap , Adivasi dance other dance troupes participated in the march.
The socio-cultural organization Bhumika has been organising this festival every year since 2001.
The message of this theatre festival is to spread the message of unity and brotherhood and worked combinely for the development of the area festival chairman told LocalWire.
Several cultural programmes will be held during the five days festival.
A total of five plays will be performed in Odiya, Kosali and Hindi.
The prominent theatre personalities will be Felicitated.
