Bhubaneswar, May 1 (LocalWire) Odisha on Friday confirmed five more Corona positive cases taking the total in the state to 148.
While two cases of have been detected in Bolangir district, three have been tested positive in Jajpur district, the state government tweeted.
Those tested positive in Balangir belonged to Lekharia village. They are both males and 22 and 18 years old respectively. They had returned from Tamil Nadu, according to Information and Public Relations department.
The contact-tracing and follow-up action is being done, it stated.
Bolangir , which had previously not reported any cases of coronavirus, becomes the 14th district in the state to report positive COVID-19 cases.
The department also tweeted the new three cases detected in the district of Jajpur are a 55-year-old male from Birajapur, a 75-year-old female from Katikata, and a 30-year-old male from Beherapatana .
The 55-year-old and 30-year-old were Kolkata returnees, while the 75-year-old female was a contact of the 55-year-old Kolkata returnee, as per the tweet.
All the three cases detected are from containment areas and asymptomatic, the tweet said.
In an earlier tweet, the health department said that two rapid response teams from AIIMS Bhubaneswar had been deputed to Balasore and Bhadrak districts to strengthen surveillance and cluster containment activities.
It may be noted that Balasore has the 2nd highest number of active cases at 20, while Bhadrak stands 3rd at 17.
