Bhubaneswar, April 5 (LocalWire): Former Kakatpur legislator Rabi Mallick resigned from the primary membership of the BJD and also stepped down as the member of the state planning board today.
Mallik tendered his resignation to supremo Naveen Patnaik without mentioning any reason.
Party insiders said he resigned from the party since he felt ignored during the selection of poll candidates for Kakatpur seat. BJD has fielded Surendra Sethi as the candidate from Kakatpur Assembly constituency.
Mallick had won from Kakatpur Assembly seat in 2009 defeating Biswa Bhusan Das with a margin of 15,221 votes.
