Bhubaneswar, Sept 18 (LocalWire): Senior citizen from Cuttack, Bijoy Krushna Mohanty on Friday said he got patta, a right of ownership document for his land that was pending for last four years, thanks to the intervention of state revenue secretary.
Mohanty said he had almost given up hope of receiving his Patta over a GA department plot (at Bharatpur Mouza), which he converted to a private holding in 2016.
He was running from pillar to post to get the Patta that had been pending for the last 4 years at the Tehsil office, Bhubaneswar, even with regular follow-up.
The matter came to the notice of revenue department principal secretary Bishnupada Sethi.
He immediately issued instructions to the officials concerned to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
Mohanty was pleasantly surprised when he receiving his Patta by post 20 days later.
“We need such honest and efficient bureaucrats if Odisha wants to prosper and attract investors from outside the state,” Mohanty told LocalWire.
Mohanty retired in 2018 after serving for around 40 years in various PSUs under Atomic Energy and Ministry of Defense.
After joining as principal secretary in May this year, Sethi has brought several reforms in revenue administrations be it paperless office or instant service delivery.
The department has been focusing on 5T (that stands for teamwork, technology, transparency and time leading to transformation) that has helped the revenue administration of the state deliver its services at ease.
