Berhampur, September 21 (LocalWire):Police on Saturday arrested four persons, including three students of Berhampur University for their involvement in the group clash at Bhanja Bihar university campus on Friday, and injuring a former student leader.
Two students of Journalism and Mass Communication Dinesh Kumar Mishal and Gopal Krushna Sahu, and another of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (IR&PM) Ashutosh Sahu, along with Dharanidhar Dakua, a non-student were arrested for attacking Debasish Mohanty inside the campus.
Mohanty is undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here and his condition is stated to be stable.
“The four persons were arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by Mohanty,” Berhampur Sadar sub-divisional police officer Jayant Kumar Mohapatra said.
Mohanty said he was attacked by some persons, including the students when he was going to university to inquire about Ph.D. admission.
Meanwhile, the police informed that the situation in the university campus was normal.
“There was no fresh incident in the campus,” post-graduate council chairperson Arundhati Rath said.
The police, however, are keeping a strict vigil on the situation.
“Forces have been deployed and we have intensified patrolling in the campus after the incident,” police sources said.
