Angul, Oct 29 (LocalWire): Four people were arrested last night in connection with the Angul spurious liquor case, in which at least 3 people died after consuming the liquor.
The Purunakote police have arrested Kalia Dehury (30) of Pathargarh, Tukuna Dehury (30) of Badahinsar, Srikant Sahu (31) of Gobara village and Ranjit Sahu (33) of Jhintipal village in the district.
All the four arrested were involved in the supplying of illegally distilled liquor (liquor distilled without proper licence), and have been arrested accordingly, said a statement by Angul police.
Earlier yesterday, Odisha excise minister Niranjan Pujari had ordered a probe into the incident.
According to latest developments, four people died and another four were hospitalised in a critical condition after consuming spurious liquor at Patharagada village under Purunakote police limits in Angul district on the evening of October 18.
