Paradip, August 30 (LocalWire): A 29-year-old man was arrested by Paradip Model police today for posing as an Income Tax officer and cheating people by assuring them jobs in the department.
Sahasransu Jena used to pose as an Income Tax Officer and dupe local youths of Bhubaneswar town by assuring jobs.
Complainant Rajesh Kumar Swain of North canal road under Mancheswer police limit, Bhubaneswar said Jena demanded Rs 1.50 lakh from him assuring him of a job as clerk.
Swain gave Rs 25,000 to the fake income tax officer and came to Paradip with Jena but after he failed to meet any officer of Income Tax department who could give him a job, Swain suspected Jena.
Swain lodged an FIR in Paradip Model Police station against Jena for posing as income tax officer.
IIC of Paradip Model Police station Rajanikant Samal said, ‘after the complaint, a case was registered against the conman and also seized a car from him. We are investigating into his involvement in other fraud cases in the capital.’
