Bhubaneswar, May 17 (LocalWire): In an emotional Facebook post, French Odissi dancer Mahina Khanum said she has donated an amount as a token of support to the CM’s relief fund to help provide much-needed life-support to the affected people.
She also shared a video showing her students in her hometown in France saying “Bande Utkala Janani”.
In the video, Khanum says she has been praying for the well-being of the people of Odisha whom she loves so much. She urged others to generously contribute so there’s no shortage of funds to deal with Fani emergency.
“We encourage you to contribute too; each and everyone according to their means. We felt we needed to do a bit more than that,” Khanum wrote in her Facebook post.
“Dear people of Odisha, here in France we have been shivering knowing what you have been through during cyclone. We prayed that Dani would not destroy you land and spirit.
“Here we know of your glorious history, your artistic wonders, your heavenly beautiful landscape. We know how strong you stood and how quickly you will rise again.
“We need you to keep inspiring us. We are sending you lots of love from all of us here. Band Utkal Janani, live long Odisha,” Khanum said in the video.
Khanum, who lives in Bhubaneswar for work, also teaches Odissi to students in France whenever she visits her hometown.
