Rourkela, Dec 12 (LocalWire) The Rourkela Police on Wednesday arrested four people, including a frontline Peoples’ Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a Jharkhand based rebel outfit, in connection to a roadside eatery loot incident.
The police also recovered cash worth Rs. 35,000, two country made pistols, two live ammunition, one bhujali and two motor cycles from the arrested persons.
The arrested persons have been identified as Binod Tete (28), Pradeep Xalco (25), Chandan Nayak (26) and Xaviour Tete (30).
According to police sources, Ramesh Sahoo, owner of a roadside eatery near Jalda Mini Stadium, had lodged a complaint on Nov 19 that four miscreants had stormed into his restaurant and looted cash worth Rs. 35,000, two sets of silver ornaments and two mobile sets.
Police sources said prime accused Binod Tete is an active cadre of extortionist outfit PLFI.
“Accused Bijod Tete is a PLFI activist, who has been involved in series of crimes in our district,” said Raghunathpalli police station inspector-in-charge Somanath Jena.
“Tete is involved in as many as ten cases under different police stations of Sundargarh district,” Jena said.
“The other three criminals also have PLFI links; they have been working as PLFI sympathizers,” Jena added.
