Bhubaneswar, July 19 (LocalWire): The district administration of Gajapati today announced lockdown in different parts of the district till July 31 keeping in the mind the current rise of Coronavirus cases.
A notification into this regard was also issued today to enforce the lockdown.
The District Collector Anupam Saha said that the lockdown will be enforced from 5am of July 20 till midnight of July 31.
The lockdown will be imposed on all block headquarters and Urban Local Bodies (Parlakhemundi Municipality and NCA Kashinagar) and several selected gram panchayats.
The selected gram panchayats included-going under lockdown included-Keranadi and Katalakaitha (Gosani Block), Renipentha and Hadubangi (Kashinagar), Arshyagada and Jhami (Gumma), Karasing and Narayanpur (Raygada), K Jhalarsingh (Nuagada), Sabarapalli (R Udayagiri) and Pindiki (Mohana).
The notification said that all shops and commercial establishments, offices, institutions would remain closed while mobility of people would be restricted.
Only essential services would be allowed to operate during the period. The government has allowed government establishments, utility and essential service providers, goods vehicles out of the ambit of the lockdown.
It has also allowed vegetable, food and grocery shops to open.
However their timings have been fixed from 7am to 2pm.
