Berhampur, August 20 (LocalWire): The 20-day free orientation programme for job aspirants, Udaan, part of community policing launched by Gajapati district police, concluded today.
During the programme 290 young people, including 31 girls participated and were trained to face recruitment boards of like Army, Navy, Airforce, para-military force, police, forest and fire services during the orientation camp, said SP (Gajapati) Sarah Sharma.
School teachers, bankers and police personnel imparted coaching to the aspirants in the camp. Besides physical training, they were also taught basic Mathematics, English, History, Geography, General Knowledge and reasoning, which will help them during recruitment, she said.
At the end of the orientation programme, each participant was presented with a trouser, T-Shirt, shoes, two guide books at a function to mark the end of the camp.
The kits would help them for further practice. ‘We hope the orientation programme will help the job aspirants at the time of the recruitment,’ said Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha, who was the chief guest during the function.
‘Our prime aim for organizing the camp was to help maximum number of youths to get job in police department, para-military and Indian army,’ said SP.
At the same time, the unemployed youths would not be duped by unscrupulous people who lure them with job offers, she said.
