Bhubaneswar, June 25 (LocalWire): The Ganjam district administration has now planned to home deliver the incentive announced by the State government for those undergoing institutional quarantine.
As per the plan, the local Sarpanchs and anganwadi workers are now being roped in for the home delivery of incentives.
The government claimed that they want to ensure people do not line up in banks to get their dues.
“We have planned to disburse the incentive in cash.
All the registered returnees who came back and successfully completed the quarantine are now being paid the incentives,” Ganjam Collector Amrut Vijay Kulange said.
He also added, “To decongest banks during Coronavirus time, we have been home delivering the incentives through Sarpanchs and angwanwadi centres. Close to 60 percent of the eligible beneficiaries have already been paid,”
According to Kulange more than 2 lakh migrant workers have returned to the district since May 3 when inter-state movement of people were allowed during lockdown.
