Bhubaneswar, June 5 (Local Wire): Ganjam district in Odisha has become the first district of Odisha to report cases of Coronavirus beyond 500, data from the state health department suggests.
According to the latest data available, Ganjam has till now reported 521 cases alone which accounts for 21 per cent cases of the state.
The state till now has reported a total of 2478 cases.
The coastal district meanwhile also leads the list of highest recovered cases.
According to case details, the district has seen a total of 354 recoveries within a month since May 3.
Ganjam till April had not a single case. However post May 3 when the huge influx of migrants started coming back to the districts, the cases multiplied multifolds.
Post May 3 the movement of migrants from other states were allowed due to partial relaxation of lockdown orders.
The district also reported the highest of three Coronavirus deaths. It also claims to have 164 active cases.
