Berhampur, August 16 (LocalWire): Ganjam Chamber of Commerce (GCC), a body of traders in Ganjam district has set up an institute of leadership, first of its kind in the state.
Union Minister for MSME Pratap Sarangi inaugurated the “GCC Institute of Leadership” on Saturday through video conferencing. “
The institute will impart training to the young aspirants in different aspects of the trading, including MSME ((Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) and help them to become successful entrepreneurs,” said P. Satya Narayan Senapati, chairman of the newly set up institute and vice president of GCC.
Minister Sarangi hailed the decision of the GCC. He also inaugurated the website of the institute.
As many as 100 young men and women aspirants have already enrolled their names in the institute to take one-year training, he said.
Though the detailed course of study was yet to be developed, we have decided to offer courses like leadership for innovation (technology up-gradation, managing self, the art of communication, business development, etc.
with practical training in different business establishments, he added. Senapati said they would invite the resources persons from different trade-related fields to impart training to the young aspirants.
After completion of the course, they would be awarded a certificate to each of them.“The classes will be started online, initially after designing the detailed course of studies soon,” he said.
The GCC had a long-cherished dream to set up such an institute to impart training to the young aspirants to make them successful entrepreneurs“Our main aim is to sharpen the skill of the aspirants with several training programs and expose them to various business opportunities, especially in the MSME sector,” said GCC secretary V. Santosh Kumar.
The 52-year old GCC has around 500 members, mostly in Berhampur and has organized different webinars in the Covid-19 lockdown period.
