Berhampur, Dec 22 (LocalWire): Ganjam District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange came to the rescue of a 20-year-old accident victim at Marudi, near Gobindapur under Sheragada police station limits today when he helped shift the injured to the hospital in his official vehicle.
The Collector was travelling from Sheragada to Berhampur when he saw the accident victim lying on the road at Marudi with onlookers surrounding him.
‘When I came to know of the victim, I carried him and his father to the nearby sub-divisional hospital in Hinjili in my vehicle,’ Kulange said.
He also directed the doctors and block development officer (BDO) Hinjili to look after the injured.
‘It’s a humane gesture. Everyone should come forward to rescue accident victims without wasting time,’ he said.
Sibaram Pradhan of Govindapur was travelling to Hinjili when a mini truck rammed into his motorbike.
He sustained head injuries and fracture in his left hand.
After preliminary treatment, Pradhan was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, here for further treatment, said BDO Hinjili, PK Patra.
