Bhubaneswar, July 29 (LocalWire): Girl students seem to have outperformed compared to their male counterparts in the state matriculation examinations, data hinted.
The State Matriculation Results were today announced by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash.
A total of 2,62,738 girl students appeared in the examinations out of which 81.98% students cleared the examinations.
On the other hand a total of 1,92,501 boys took the exams and 77.8% of them were able to clear the exams.
According to the figures furnished by the government a total of 4,21,256 students have passed the examination making the total pass percentage at 78.76 percent.
Last year it was 72.35 per cent, hinting at an improvement of the overall results.
Bargarh district proved to be the best performer in terms of pass percentage. It reported the highest 89.37 pass percentage. It was followed by Khurda district (87.28%) and Puri district (86.82%).
