Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (LocalWire): There is good news for vehicle owners in the state.
A letter from the state transport commissioner directed all SPs, DCPs, RTOs and additional RTOs in the state to accept vehicle-related documents in electronic form through mobile phone applications.
The public need not carry the documents in their physical form anymore.
‘As per the directions of the ministry of road transport and highways, Govt. of India , the digital platforms like Digilocker and m-Parivan have already been recognised as verified authenticated digital documents provider application,’ the letter read.
Documents pertaining to vehicle registration, insurance, fitness, permit, driving license, pollution under control certificate could be produced by the vehicle owners, if necessary, before the concerned officers through Digilocker or m-Parivahan mobile phone applications of the Central government.
‘Moreover, in case a citizen is unable to show the digital copy or information on Digilocker or m-Parivahan app, the enforcement agency can verify the details of DL & RC on their m-parivahan app or e-challan app,’ it said.
