Bhubaneswar, June 11 (LocalWire): The state government on Monday released Rs 197.59 crore for disbursement in Puri district as house building assistance to those affected by cyclone Fani.
All disbursements will be made directly through bank transfer, the process for which has already commenced and is likely to be completed very soon, a statement by the revenue and disaster management department said, Monday.
According to the assessment made by the district administration, as many as 287,762 families were affected in Puri.
While 9,059 pucca and kutcha houses were fully damaged, 10,4715 houses suffered severe damages, and 113,221 pucca houses and 49,529 kutcha houses were partially damaged during the cyclone.
Besides, 2,178 huts and 119,694 cowshed were also damaged, the statement said.
As per the norms of state disaster response fund and national disaster response fund, a house owner whose pucca or kutcha house has been fully or severely damaged is entitled to house building assistance of Rs 95,100.
Assistance amounting to Rs 5,200 is payable for partial damage of pucca house, Rs 3,200 for partial damage of kutcha house, Rs 4,100 for damage of hut and Rs 2,100 for damage of cowshed.
