Berhampur, August 15 (LocalWire): The office of the Berhampur Regional Chief Conservator of Forest (RCCF) has suspended the Digapahandi forest range officer-in-charge Pramananda Panigrahi on Wednesday.
The suspension order was issued by the regional chief conservator of forest Suresh Pant following departmental proceedings against him on charges of remaining absent from the duty without informing the authorities.
Panigrahi had remained absent for over a month after vigilance sleuths raided his office along with the office and house of Berhampur divisional forest officer Asish Kunar Behera and Khallikote range officer Dilip Kumar Martha on July 19.
While Behera was arrested on charges on owning assets disproportionate to his known sources of income on July 21, Martha managed to secure anticipatory bail from the court and has been reporting on duty, sources said.
Panigrahi, however, went underground after the raids at his office, sources said.
The vigilance sleuths had conducted simultaneous raids at nine places, including at the Digaphandi and Khallikote forest range offices.
