Balangir, Dec 27 (Localwire) Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal on Friday dedicated the much awaited LPG bottling plant of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd in Bolangir district to the people.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu was scheduled to inaugurate LPG Bottling Plant of BPCL in Barkani village of Balangir. His visit was cancelled in view of bad weather.
Barkani plant is the second LPG bottling plant of BPCL after Khurda in the state.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was present at the time of inauguration of the plant.
According to BPCL officials here, thousands of consumers of western Odisha spread across Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sonepur Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Nuapada will be benefited by this LPG Bottling plant.
The plant is spread over 23 acres will have the capacity to produce 42 lakh cylinders per year.
Besides, it will give boost to industry revival in Bolangir, a backward district.
The foundation stone of the plant was laid on May 21, 2018 by Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
