Bhubaneswar, Aug 7 (LocalWire): The state health department today allowed treatment of Coronavirus by private hospitals but issued a new set of norms to govern the new regime.
The new norms allowed them to treat Coronavirus patients with no symptom or mild symptom in case they want to get treated at the private hospital.
It asked the willing hospitals with adequate infrastructure to reserve 10 percent beds for Corona treatment and also allowed them to convert the whole hospital into COVID Hospital.
The government has asked the private players to not charge exorbitant prices for the treatment and also ensure they do use Coronavirus testing as per government rates.
It has also asked them to ensure all hygienic measures and also mandated working of hospital staff in a shift of 14 days.
The government also said that newer drugs should be rationally and judiciously prescribed by the hospitals.
It also asked the private hospitals to charge the patients per day and not go for one time payment. It also said that disposal of the dead bodies must be done as per government norms.
