Bhubaneswar, May 1 (Local Wire): The state government on Friday morning has issued an appeal to all the citizens who recently returned from West Bengal to come forward for testing and prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The Health and Family Welfare Department in a statement said, “People who have returned from West Bengal recently should not hide. They must come forward for testing,”
It also added, “They may seem healthy; yet could be infected and also spread infection.
They are advised to contact local BDO, Tahasildar, Sarpanch and remain isolated at home. Testing is free,”
The department also said that the Health Department Helpline 104 is functional round the clock.
“Persons having flu like symptoms are advised to call 104 for medical advice,” the department said.
The appeal from the government comes at a time when most of the new cases detected from the hotbeds of Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak are found to have links with West Bengal.
