Bhubaneswar, August 6 (LocalWire): The state government today approved seven investment proposals worth Rs.1036.39 crore under single window clearance system that will generate employment opportunities for 2778 people.
In a state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) meeting held today at the Secretariat, the investment proposals, likely to generate employment avenues for nearly 3,000 workforce, both in the skilled and unskilled categories, were approved, senior government officials said.
The government agencies and line departments were asked to assess requirement of land and water for these industrial units, they said.
The proposals approved in SLSWCA were from different sectors like food processing, plastics, tourism, logistics and metal.
The approved projects included the proposal of M/S Supreme Industries Ltd, a market leader in the country’s plastic industry to set up a manufacturing unit in Khordha district for production of plastic pipes, PVC water tanks and allied products with an investment of Rs 151.30 crores.
The proposal of M/S Bhagirathi Packaging Pvt Ltd, an associate company of Fogla Group, to set up polypropylele woven bags production unit in Bhadrakh district with investment of Rs.60.29 crores and employment potential of 500 people.
The proposal of M/S Mayfair Hotels & Resort Ltd to set up a convention centre with 4000 capacity at Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs 300 crores and employment potential of 850 people were approved by SLSWCA.
Apart from these, the SLSWCA also cleared the proposal for two food processing units, Intecqc Feed Co Ltd based in Thailand, for setting up shrimp feed manufacturing unit in Khordha district with investment of Rs 107.88 crores and employment potential of 205 people and M/S Explore Food Pvt Ltd from Odisha for manufacturing of ready to eat snacks unit in Khordha with investment of Rs 51.40 crores and employment potential of 194 persons.
The other proposals approved in the meeting were from Odisha-based entrepreneurs, M/S Chalah Infratech Pvt Ltd to set up a logistic park in Khordha district entailing investment of Rs.99.80 crores and job opportunities for 234 people and proposal of M/S KAI International Pvt Ltd for setting up iron ore beneficiation and pellet plant in Sundargarh district envisaging the investment of Rs 265.72 crores and creation of job opportunities for 475 people.
