Bhubaneswar, Dec 27 (LocalWire): Odisha government today approved investment proposals worth Rs 922 crores under the single window clearance system that is likely to generate employment for nearly 3,000 people.
The single window clearance system is a facilitation mechanism for investors that are being effectively implemented in the state to create investment-friendly ecosystem in the coastal state.
In the state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy at Lokaseva Bhawan, the investment proposals envisaging employment potential for 2650 persons were approved, senior officials said.
The government agencies and line departments were asked to assess the requirement of land and water for these industrial units. The departments were asked to withdraw the unused water already allotted to the industries and reallocate those as per the real requirement.
The proposals approved in the meeting were from tourism, steel, food processing and IT & ESDM (information technology and electronics system design and manufacturing) sectors.
In the ESDM sector, the committee approved an Odisha-based ESDM company for setting up a manufacturing unit for production of printed circuit boards (PCBs) of capacity 1,44,000 square metre at EMC park (Info valley) in Khordha district with a total investment of Rs 96.80 crore providing employment to about 425 people.
In the food processing sector, the proposal of a state-based leading exporter of sea food products for enhancement of its unit capacity located at Deras Sea Food Park, Khordha with additional investment of Rs 85.94 crore and employment potential for 580 people was approved.
In the tourism sector, a national level company was approved to set up an amusement Park in the district of Khordha. It would provide employment to around 500 people at an investment of Rs 107.10 crore. In the same sector, approval was also accorded to an Odia entrepreneur to set up a 4 star hotel at Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs. 59.08 crore, providing employment to 167 people.
