Bhubaneswar, August 19 (LocalWire): The State Government has approved the salaries and pensions of three COVID warriors from Ganjam district who lost their lives while in public service.
Arun Kumar Behera, Section Officer at Jagannathprasad Block Office; Sachidananda Pattnayak, Senior Revenue Assistant at Khallikote Tehsil Office; and Ramesh Chandra Panda, Chairman at Buguda Tehsil office, lost their lives while fighting against the pandemic in Ganjam district.
Principal Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Bishnupada Sethi wrote to the families, “Odisha is proud of their fearless commitment to the job and service to the society.”
The families of these warriors will receive full salaries till the date on which the officials would have retired had they been alive.
Post-retirement, the families will get the pension amount for the said officials.
Their insurance is to be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan package.
