Berhampur, August 20 (LocalWire): A 36-year-old historysheeter, Sunil Behera alias Panigrahy of Lanjipalli in Berhampur, who was detained by the police under National Security Act (NSA) last month, was confirmed by the state government today after his cases were reviewed by the NSA Board, said SP (Berhampur) Pinak Mishra.
He will be remanded in the circle jail for a year from the date of his detention according to the NSA Board.
As many as 17 different heinous crimes were pending against Behera,police said.
Behera was arrested on 2 June on charge of terrorizing people near Berhampur railway station with crude bombs.
He was detained under NSA on 27 June and recommended for confirmation of detention to the government.
