Bhubaneswar, June 15 (LocalWire): The department of Higher Education has now extended the deadline for distribution of free laptops till July 31 keeping in view the Coronavirus outbreak.
The department claims that the distribution has been impacted due to the Coronavirus outbreak and a number of undistributed laptops are lying in government colleges.
“….many laptops are lying undistributed at different nodal colleges.
Nodal Centres have expressed their inability to distribute the balance laptops to the meritorious students due to COVID-19 lockdown from March 22, 2020,” a letter from the State Higher Education Department said.
It said that under these circumstances it has been decided to extend the deadline to July 31, 2020 to complete the distribution of balance laptops for the year 2019-20.
“You are therefore requested to complete the distribution work by contacting the concerned colleges from which the +2 pass out students have not collected the laptops and furnish the status report to the undersigned by August 1, 2020 positively,” the letter from the department to the 30 principals of nodal colleges said.
