Bhubaneswar, July 7 (LocalWire): The state government today extended the deadlines for payment of motor vehicle taxes in the light of problems with government server and Coronavirus related issues.
The Commerce and Transport department in a notification today said, “Due to lockdown to prevent COVID 19, the vehicle owners are not able to pay Motor Vehicle tax and additional tax for the month of July 2020 in case of stage carriers and contract carriages within the grace period,” the department notification said.
It added, “The owners of goods carriages are not able to pay the MV tax/additional tax for the quarter April-June, 2020 within the extended grace period i.e June 30 due to slow down of VAHAN server,”
The department in its notification said that all such taxes and dues could not be paid in the current month.
It said that goods carriages can pay the quarter dues by July 15 while the stage/contract carriages can pay it till July 31.
